What happens
- A cochlear implant has a part that is placed through surgery and a sound processor that is worn outside, behind the ear.
- After the surgery, the processor is programmed and adjusted over repeated sessions, based on what the patient hears and feels.
- At each session we check the device, talk about daily life and make the adjustments needed.
- How long it takes
- Programming sessions vary from patient to patient. We tell you the approximate time when you book.
- What to bring
- The sound processor and its accessories
- The documents for the implant and the surgery
- The questions you have gathered since the last session
When you call, tell us which implant you have, so that we can prepare for the visit.
